Samhain Bas Sona Retreat

Cill a Thulaich, an online Caim composed of members of the southeastern US, will be offering a Samhain Bas Sona Retreat at the Assembly Inn at Montreat Conference Center near Black Mountain, NC this fall, October 27-29, 2023.

We thought Samhain would be an appropriate time to learn more together about Ceile De traditions around death and dying. Using Sr. Fionn’s Eolaire online teachings as our reference point, this reverent but non-silent gathering will explore these “peaceful death” concepts through collaborative discovery and conversation. Our time together will be shaped by rùn, paidirean, oran turis, and the Psalms. Some of us are harpists and will bring our collective talent as music ministry and resource. Our vision is that those of us who attend will help plan the final shape of this retreat, but a draft schedule is attached to fire your imaginations!

The estimated cost of this retreat is $200 per person for food and lodging, depending on numbers. Those who fly in from a distance will come to us via shuttle from the Asheville Regional Airport (cost of Airport shuttle is not included). The conference center is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountain wilderness with vibrant autumn vistas, streams, a lake, hiking, and Mission-style architecture https://montreat.org/what-to-expect. Accommodations include both single and double rooms w private baths in Assembly Inn.
